If your work is selected, and you would like it to appear here, please print and sign the Artwork Release Form and turn it into me.
Graphics Programming
In this course, students are exposed to Autodesk Maya, and the power of scripting. The students use MEL (Maya Embedded Language) to automate their workflow, develop custom graphical user interfaces, and add functionality to their models and animations. Students build a clock and add working gears and other elements to it using MELscript. Students also harness the power of 'for' loops as a method of automating the process of terrain generation.

This course focuses on developing conceptual work for the preproduction phase of an animation, leading up towards the production of the student's Capstone Project. Each quarter I choose a new mythological story, and it is up to the student to interpret it visually. Work consists of developing character and environmental concepts using references as a starting point. Deliverables include turn-arounds, model sheets, action poses, height relationship charts, expression sheets, storyboards and an animatic.
